Educating our Daughters, Why?

This past century saw radical changes in the face of Jewish women's education. What have we gained? What have we lost? Where do we go from here? The righteous pillars of Jerusalem have a clear vision for the role of the Jewish daughter. She is the link in the chain of the transmission of our Torah. She is the mainstay of the home. She is her child's first teacher. But where have our Yiddishe Mamas gone? Growing up in our modern work-oriented world, with pressure to support their husbands in learning, they have gone full strength into the work force.
